The Collegiate Volleyball Update (CVU.com) is pleased to announce that Cal Poly junior Jennifer Keddy has been selected as the CVU.com National Player of the Week for Oct. 10 through Oct. 16.
A 6-4 middle blocker from Missoula, Mont., Keddy notched a pair of career-highs in leading the Mustangs to two Big West Conference victories last week.
In the week's first match, the middle tied her career best in kills, drilling 20 on .413 hitting while at the same time scooping up a career-high dig total with 17 as Cal Poly downed UC Santa Barbara 3-2. Keddy also tabbed five blocks on the night.
The next night, against CS Northridge, Keddy again was hot on the attack, this time setting a career-high with 22 kills, hitting .422 and adding 12 more digs to her total as Cal Poly won in four.
On the week, Keddy averaged 4.78 kills and 3.22 digs per set while hitting .418. She also added seven total blocks.
For her efforts, Keddy also earned Big West Conference Player of the Week honors. The middle is the first Mustang to earn the CVU.com honor and fifth player from the Big West.
In addition to the Player of the Week, CVU.com will be announcing selections for the Top Performers from the past week. These selections will include the Player of the Week and up to 10 others. Choices will consist of players who were finalists for the weekly honor and others who had exceptional individual matches. The additional selections will be based on nominations and CVU.com staff criteria.
