With three matches on last night's scoreboard, the 2006 march to University Park is underway.
With all three matches being first round matches in the teams' respective conference brackets, it was an interesting night for the home teams. Each home team, UCLA, Princeton, and Juniata, dropped the first game and then proceeded to take the next three games and advance to the conference quarterfinals.
Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA) action saw Princeton defeat NJIT in the closest match of the night, where each game was decided by two points, and 2006 Molten Division III Men's Invitational Volleyball Champion Juniata upend East Stroudsburg to advance to the Quarterfinals on Saturday.
No. 7 UCLA hosted No. 9 UC Santa Barbara in the only opening round Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) playoff match and extended its winning streak to nine matches, earning the right to play at Hawaii in the MPSF Quarterfinals.
Editor's Note: Our lack of schedule and score updates since March 30 has had to do with some major health issues that have come to my family. I will be backfilling the scoreboard and schedule in the days ahead and keeping up with the postseason matches.
